Maine Vacation Rental FAQs

Once Bayley Vacation Rentals receives 50% of the total balance due to confirm a reservation, our cancellation policy applies.
If a guest cancels 60 days or more before check-in, all funds paid will be refunded, excluding the applicable payment fee.
If a guest cancels 59 days or fewer before arrival, the guest will forfeit 100% of the total reservation.
Cancellation policies may differ when a reservation is made through a third-party booking platform such as Airbnb, Vrbo or another online travel agency. Please refer to the cancellation terms associated with your specific reservation.

Reservation fees vary depending on the property, length of stay and reservation details. Bayley Vacation Rentals has combined several operational charges, including cleaning, linens and administrative costs, into the applicable resort fee rather than displaying each of these as an individual charge. Administrative costs generally range from $150–$250, depending on the size of the home. For dog-friendly properties, a $200 pet fee covering up to two dogs is included in the applicable reservation fees when pets are added to the reservation. Accidental damage protection is also included with reservations as applicable.

The full price for your stay will be displayed during the booking process before your reservation is finalized.

Yes! Guests who choose to pay by check can avoid the card processing fee. All payments must be submitted by check to qualify for the waived processing fee. Any payments made by credit or debit card are subject to the 4% processing fee. Please contact our team if you would like information about paying for your Maine vacation rental by check.

A 50% deposit is required to confirm your reservation. The remaining balance is due 60 days before your scheduled arrival. Reservations made within 60 days of arrival are non-refundable and require payment in full at the time of booking.

Standard check-in for Bayley Vacation Rentals properties is 4:00 PM. We offer contactless check-in for our vacation rental homes. Your property-specific arrival information, door code and other important instructions will be available through your digital guest guidebook. Your guidebook is also a great resource throughout your stay and includes information specific to your property, such as Wi-Fi, TVs, appliances, beach access and other amenities.

Possibly! Early check-in may be available for an additional fee and is based on availability.
Our team needs adequate time between guests to clean, inspect, and prepare each Maine vacation rental for arrival, so early check-in cannot be guaranteed. All early check-in requests must be submitted through your guidebook and require card payment 

If you’ve arrived in Old Orchard Beach early and your vacation rental isn’t ready yet, you’re welcome to park at the Bayley Vacation Rentals office at 2 Cascade Road, Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
From our office, you can head to the beach, explore the area on foot or take the local trolley while you wait for your vacation rental to be ready.
Please do not park at your rental property before your approved check-in time unless our team has given you permission. Parking spaces may be needed by cleaners, inspectors and other BVR team members preparing the home for your stay.

Parking varies by property. Each vacation rental has a specific number of permitted parking spaces, so please review your property’s listing and digital guest guidebook before arrival. Please do not assume that additional street or lawn parking is permitted.

If your group has more vehicles than your vacation rental can accommodate, additional overnight parking may be available at local Park & Ride locations. Availability and parking regulations can vary, so we recommend reviewing current parking information before leaving a vehicle overnight.

Important: Beach towels are NOT provided. Please bring beach towels for everyone in your group.
Each home is individually owned, so additional amenities vary by property. Review the individual property listing and your digital guest guidebook for information about items such as air conditioning, grills, beach equipment, outdoor furniture and other property-specific amenities.

Our Maine vacation rentals include the standard kitchen equipment provided with the individual home, which includes dishes, glassware, silverware, cookware, a coffee maker, microwave, stove, and refrigerator. Specific appliances and amenities vary by property, so please review your property listing and guest guidebook for details. Food, pantry staples, and condiments should not be assumed to be provided.

Although we provide many household and personal-care essentials, we recommend packing:

Some properties may have beach chairs, toys, games or other extras available, but these amenities vary by home and should not be assumed unless they’re specifically listed.

Yes! We offer a selection of dog-friendly Maine vacation rentals. Homes designated as pet-friendly allow a maximum of two dogs per reservation. A $200 pet fee covers up to two dogs and is automatically included in the applicable reservation fees when pets are added to a reservation at a pet-friendly property. Pets are only permitted at properties specifically designated as pet-friendly. If you bring a dog to a non-pet-friendly property, you will be fined.  Please make sure you select a dog-friendly home when traveling with your four-legged family members. Dogs are the only pets allowed.

Check-out is 10:00 AM. Please plan to be completely departed from the property by 10:00 AM so our team has enough time to prepare the home for our next guests. Please text our team when you have departed so we know the home is ready for our staff.

We’ve kept our check-out instructions simple so you can enjoy every last minute of your Maine vacation.

• Trash: Place all house and bathroom trash in the designated town bins by 10:00 AM on check-out day.
• Dishes: Make sure the kitchen sink is empty with no dirty dishes remaining.
• Linens: Leave all linens on the beds as is! There’s no need to strip the beds. Our team will handle the linens throughout the house.
• Personal Items: Double-check drawers, closets and other storage areas for anything you may have left behind.
• Electricity: Turn off all lights and air conditioning before departing.
• Security: Lock all doors and windows before you leave.
• Departure: Please send our team a text once you’ve departed the property.

• After a transaction, your private information (credit cards, social security numbers, financials, etc.) will not be stored on our servers.
